Vietnam’s 10 most active property developers and architecture firms were honored with the annual BCI Asia Awards on May 26.

The portfolios of the top developers are valued at US$4.5 billion, and that of the elite architecture firms at $6.1 billion worth of properties scheduled for construction in Vietnam this year.

The firms were chosen based on the greatest aggregate value of projects under construction during the last full calendar year, weighted by the extent of their sustainability efforts.

For architecture firms, pre-tender projects were included to recognize early incorporation of sustainable efforts.

The BCI Asia Top 10 Developers 2023 Award for Vietnam was given to BIM Land, a member of BIM Group; BRG Group; BW Industrial Development JSC; Frasers Property Vietnam; Gamuda Land Vietnam; Indochina Kajima Development; KCN Vietnam; Nam Long Investment Corporation; TNG Realty Corporation; and Vinhomes Joint Stock Company.

The event also honored regional winners and merit recipients of Asia’s leading green design competition, the FuturArc Prize, and the BCI Interior Design Awards. Details about each competition will be made available on the FuturArc and Construction Plus platforms in the coming months.

The award for second place went to the team of Tran Khoa Thanh, Do Viet Hoang, Dang Le Nhu Ngoc, and Nguyen Minh Ngoc for a project titled Regeneration.

Third place went to Cao Xuan Tung for Urban Bamboo Forest.

Merit Awards went to the By the River project (team of Cassagne Thibault, Gania Romane, Vu Than Thu, Hoang Quang Phat), Gen-e (Nguyen Khanh Son, Nguyen Trong Son, Pham Thi Trang, Vu Ngoc Khanh), On the Floor Over the Flood (Duong Thai Hung, Mai Hoang Thong, Danh Minh An, Le Linh Do, Nguyen Phan Thuy Tien).

The FuturArc Prize 2023, an international Green design competition for architecture professionals and students, was held from October 2022 to February 2023 with the theme of Cross-Generational Architecture.

The theme explored the rapid changes in societal compositions throughout Asia, and asked entrants to envision sustainable design solutions for future generations amid ongoing climate and planetary challenges.

The BCI Interior Design Awards 2023 had the theme of Human-Centered Interiors and went to projects that showcase well-designed spaces that empower users to reside, engage and enrich their lives joyfully and meaningfully. The award-winning designs illustrate a deep understanding of users’ psyche, behaviors, habits, and preferences.

The Vietnamese winners were The Wave (H.a Workshop & H.2) in the Engagement category, and the Merits included Woven Screen Office (Takashi Niwa) in the Engagement, Tree House by the Lake (H.2) in the Living, and FTU-JAPI Universal House (NH Village) in the Enrichment categories.

The event was sponsored by Häfele Vietnam, Dulux Professional, Technal, Vasta Stone, Wavin, An Cuong Wood-Working JSC, Malloca, Playpoint, and Teka Vietnam.

Celebrating 18 years of building and design leadership, the BCI Asia Awards remain one of the most coveted in the regional building industry while serving as a forum for domestic and international networking among elite architecture firms, property developers, manufacturers, and service providers.

BCI bridges the information gap between design consultants seeking to identify products for their projects and suppliers seeking to inform them about building products and new construction technologies.

In doing so, BCI Central conducts more than 250,000 face-to-face and phone interviews with architects, developers, engineers, and contractors every year, reporting on approximately USD400 billion worth of projects.

Besides promoting efficiency and transparency through its research services, BCI also publishes the award-winning FuturArc journal, Construction+ magazine and other architectural books.
